Madden 23 Ratings Released

The NFL gaming world got a little taste of what’s to come to their consoles soon as full team ratings for Madden 23 were released this week.

While the game won’t be available for purchase until August 19, we now know what the individual ratings are for every player including everyone on the Commanders roster. The overall ratings for the top 14 Washington players are listed below.

  • DT Jonathan Allen 92
  • WR Terry McLaurin 92
  • CB Kendall Fuller 89
  • DT Daron Payne 87
  • DE Chase Young 86
  • CB William Jackson III 83
  • G Andrew Norwell 82
  • P Tress Way 82
  • RB Antonio Gibson 80
  • T Charles Leno Jr. 80
  • C Chase Roullier 80
  • DE Montez Sweat 80
  • LB Cole Holcomb 79
  • S Kam Curl 79

You can see the rest of the list as well as an in-depth look at each player’s attributes by visiting the Madden 23 website. The biggest “snub” for the Commanders appears to be Carson Wentz, who the Madden folks believe is a 73 overall.

Wentz will get plenty of chances to bring that rating up this season as the game updates each player’s ratings weekly based on play from current games. Whether you take football game ratings serious or not, a 73 seems a bit low for a guy who threw 27 touchdowns last year with only seven interceptions and had a 94.7 QB rating.

Montez Sweat seems a little low at 80 overall as well, but at least there’s some reasoning attached there with him having a down season for multiple reasons last year. Including the death of his brother, and witnessing the death of his teammate’s spouse/significant other.

Washington is one of the fastest in the game with four players, Terry McLaurin, Troy Apke, Curtis Samuel, and Percy Butler, that rank 94 or better in speed.

The top-rated Commander was Jonathan Allen, who was rated a 92, and judging by his reaction in the video below, he was both surprised and happy about the news.
